Edguy - Discografia

O Edguy surgiu em 1992 na Alemanha, quando Tobias Sammet, com apenas 16 anos de idade resolveu criar uma banda para tocar suas próprias composições. Se juntaram a ele Jens Ludwig (guitarra e vocais de apoio), Dirk Sauer (guitarra e vocais de apoio) e Dominik Storch (bateria). Esta foi a primeira formação do Edguy, nela Tobias tocava baixo e teclado, sendo ainda o vocalista principal. Com esta formação foram gravadas as demos Evil Minded e Childen Of Steel. Em 1995 veio o primeiro disco: Savage Poetry, álbum totalmente independente, que saiu com uma tiragem de apenas mil cópias. Apesar da pouca divulgação, os garotos chamaram a atenção da gravadora AFM Records. Assim que assinaram com a gravadora, os músicos solicitaram um relançamento de Savage Poetry, o que foi negado pela gravadora. Em 1997, mais maduros e profissionais, vem Kingdom Of Madness, que também não teve uma grande repercussão graças a pequena publicidade e uma curta turnê. Em 1998, o conjunto alcança seu primeiro sucesso, com o lançamento de Vain Glory Opera. Este disco conta com a participação de Hansi Kürsch do Blind Guardian. Com a amizade com Hansi, Tobias segue um conselho do amigo e assim como ele, deixa o posto de baixista da banda para Tobias Exxel, para se dedicar melhor as suas apresentações. Em 1999 foi a vez de Teather Of Salvation, álbum que elevou à banda a um status ainda mais alto, se destacando como um dos grandes nomes do metal alemão, ao lando de grupos como Helloween, Blind Guardian e Gamma Ray. Em 2000, a banda relança do álbum Savage Poetry, porém chamado The Savage Poetry, com as músicas do primeiro álbum da banda com novas versões. Nesta época, Tobias trabalha também em seu projeto solo de metal opera, o Avantasia, o que elevou sua fama e ajudou a projetar o Edguy ainda mais. Mandrale é lançado em 2001, um álbum realmente muito foda. Em seguida saem Hellfire Club (2004), álbum que traz o sucesso King Of Fools, que virou single e clip, Rocket Ride (2006) e o polêmico Tinnitus Sanctus (2008). Polêmico pois, a banda não tem medo de inovar, e a cada álbum apresenta coisas novas, em Tinnitus Sanctus foi assim, um disco totalmente diferente dos outros já lançados, se é bom ou ruim eu ainda não conseguí formar uma opnião sobre ele, pois digo que é apenas diferente.
